Islanders, Nassau Exec. hold rally at Coliseum

Eyewitness NewsUNIONDALE (WABC) -- The New York Islanders and their fans hope to score big Tuesday with a rally in support of building a new arena.

Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano wants taxpayers to put up $400 million to build a new home for the team, which currently plays in the aging Nassau Coliseum.

He's leading a major rally in support of the project.

The rally comes right before the Nassau County Legislature begins a decisive hearing on the plan.
