DEVELOPING: Jerry Williams, the former chief executive of Orion Bank, has been hit with a nine-count federal indictment, accusing him of conspiracy to commit bank fraud and deceive federal and state bank examiners, misapplication of bank funds, making false entries in Orion’s financial reports, mail fraud, wire fraud and money laundering. If convicted on all nine counts, he could be sentenced to 220 years in prison. The 51-year-old Williams, who now resides in Texas, built Orion into one of the largest banks headquartered in the state before it was seized by regulators in November 2009.
