My roomate takes FOREVER in the bathroom!
I live in an apartment with three other girls with only one bathroom. For the most part, we don't have a problem because we all have different schedules. However, when one of my roommates is in the bathroom, she takes forever! It takes her about 30 minutes to get ready (brush teeth, wash face, etc.) and she can take up to an hour taking a shower! The rest of us don't know what's up, but we may think she has OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), because we can hear the water running a lot. Anyway, it happens everytime, and we can't go into the bathroom either because she locks the door. (It takes her about a minute to unlock the door too, when we REALLY need the bathroom) It's also kind of embarassing to confront her on this, but it gets to be kind of a pain. What do you think she is doing, and what should we do?

We don't pay for water. (thank goodness) It boggles our minds because we can't fathom her being really inconsiderate of the rest of us.

We already talked about it at the beginning of the year, but sort of didn't center it all on her so she wouldn't be embarrassed. No, we really don't think she's ..... you know.....she's pretty sheltered.

Like I said before, we have different schedules. Even then, we take showers whenever we can..(late at night, in the morning, whenever)..we're college students. She tells us that she'll take be taking a shower and stuff, but when I get home from work and have to use the bathroom and then end up having to wait 50 minutes, then it gets to be a problem. And no, she is not masturbating. She even changes clothes in the bathroom. And we've already talked to her about it, so we think she would have gotten the message.

Oh and she doesn't wear makeup or do her hair, so that is another reason why were are curious.

Talk to her, tell her that she's being unfair to the others in the apartment, and set time limits, for all. All 4 of you should discuss things like this, together. Rather than let resentments build.
