Taxi Federation demands fairness to livery drivers

Eyewitness NewsNEW YORK (WABC) -- There is growing concern over Mayor Bloomberg's plan to add 6,000 outer borough taxis.

On Sunday, the New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers announced its support for the city's plan to enhance taxi service outside Manhattan.

But the federation is demanding fairness for livery drivers.

A group of elected officials held a news conference Sunday claiming Mayor Bloomberg's plan will devastate business for more than 20,000 livery drivers. (Copyright ©2011 WABC-TV/DT. All Rights Reserved.) Get more New York News »
