Can I tell the prospective new tenants this place is loaded with mice and mold? – www.questionsandanswersonline.com

We are moving out of this hell hole house. The landlord is showing the house to possible new tenants. I want to tell them sooooo bad this place is infestied with mice mold and spiders. The roof leaks terrible. All kinds of squirals live in the roof. Can I say anything? I sure want to, other than it is sure a cute house….in front of the landlord.

absolutely, it is your duty to tell them, screw the slumlord, if he is embarrased then he needs to fix the problem or risk letting the property sit unrented and not making him his money for a few months, that will get him moving. call your local board of health, document everything you have seen and if he threatens you, record the conversation. (check you state law before doing this but you can protect yourself that way)

i suffered brain damage from toxic mold. it would be terrible of you not to mention it to the new tenants.
