WHO WE ARE

FORDECUSA is a grassroots, non-profit organization formed in 2008 by a group of concerned Thais and Americans living in the United States. FORDEC is a combination of the English word “FOR” and the word “DEC” in Thai means “children”, so “FORDEC” means for the “sake of the children!" Many of our members were once Peace Corps volunteers in Thailand, or have spent time working with the children, who endured deplorable human conditions and neglect that deprives them from receiving just a basic education, nutrition and healthcare. Others are Thai friends and community supporters who feel a special connection to Thailand and want to help the children.
WHOM WE ASSIST

FORDECUSA assists disadvantaged children and families in Thailand. We also help charitable organizations here in the United States, such as MedShare International. MedShare provides surplus medical supplies to healthcare systems in medically underserved communities worldwide. We also volunteer our time once a month to assist with packaging medical supplies in preparation for shipping.
WHAT WE DO

FORDECUSA raises funds to support other legally recognized non-profit organizations in Thailand whose goals are to provide assistance to the poor and needy. We monitor the use of the funds we raised to ensure they are being used in ways that are consistent with our mission.
Fordec USA is a truly non-profit organization. It has no paid staff. Everyone is a volunteer.
Last year (2009) out of every dollar donated, 96 cents went to help the poor.
Our goal is to try to use every donated dollar to buy a meal, a pair of shoes or school supplies for a needy child.
OUR GOALS

To help disadvantaged children, families and the elderly who are poor, homeless, abandoned, handicapped, and abused, regardless of race or religion, by providing them with opportunities to be self-sufficient so that they will become future productive citizens.

Sponsoring a child is wonderful way to bring some sunshine into a poor child's life. All of our children come from poor families who live in the slums or in poor rural villages in Thailand. They are all good children who just need someone to give them a helping hand.
You can sponsor a child for a month or a year. As long as you wish. There's no obligation.
You can write us a check or you can have the money billed to your credit card. You can pay once a month or you can pay all at once for a whole year. Whatever is most convenient to you. Just a dollar a day. That's all it takes. Please call or email us today and let us know how much you can afford to help a poor child.
It usually costs around $30 USD a month to support a younger child.
