so sad. as a parent I can't imagine what this little girl's parents are going through right now. this is a pain no one should ever have to experience. there is no love like a parents love for their child(ren). My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of this child.

I agree! I am a mother of two and couldn't imagine what her parents are going thru right now. And for them not to be there would just be excruciating! How could that have happened? Rest in Peace sweet girl!

I don't understand how she could just *fall* out and not have it be due to her acting crazy or a mechanical issue. I guess we will wait for more details.

I said 3 things...either she was pushed, jumped on a dare or just plain committed suicide.

My thoughts and prayers to the family.

A child that age should not be allowed to ride the huge ferris wheel without an adult and without a seatbelt.

I was there on a field trip, I didn't see the girl fall, but some other kids did. From what I heard she was at the top and jumped, but knowing how rumours work, I'm unsure if that's true. I wished I could have done something to help, but now I realize I can only give her and her family my prayers.

That would make the most sense. I've ridden the ride many times and besides being a mechanical problem or horse play, which it doesn't seem to be, you wouldn't fall out. I still really really sad for the family no matter what the reason.

Yes, and also in the article it states she fell out halfway, which is illogical considering she landed directly in front of the ride. No matter if she jumped or fell, at the middle or top; a child is still gone, may she rest in peace.

Also, if she was with a group, where was the supervision? She was only 11 and on that ride by herself? I would not let any child of mine on ANY ride by themselves without some supervision.

I had many friends on the ferris wheel with the girl, including a friend who almst got hit by the falling girl. Anyway, they said she was leaning over the rail. Then they think she passed out, but that can't be confirmed as they were not in the cab with her. But I've been on the wheel before and it's VERY hrd to fall out...
