How to get rid of fleas and gnats(fruit flies)?
Hi, we have a bad case of fruit flies because we had bananas out and we forgot about them. So I cleaned all the counters and table and the stove. What else can I do to get rid of these fruit flies? Also, we have a bad case of fleas as well due to the fact that we took a cat in from the streets last year and we also have a cat already. He had some last year as well but we got rid of all of them. Or at least we thought we did, but this year he has them again and has given them to our other cat. They are all over the house now biting me and my girlfriend now as well. When we go to the bedroom, living room, or kitchen they jump on our legs. Is there any way to get rid of these things as fast as possible without hurting our cats?

1. Keep cats indoors. They get the fleas from being outside a lot of the time.
2. DON'T buy over the counter flea remover products( That is deadly and harmful to cats~ I know because I talked to the vet about this)
3. Use natural spray removers for the fruit flies(Natural made chemicals) because it will not harm your cats sensitive smell and or their health.

Fruit flies die when there's no fruit around for them to be on. They're not a problem.

Fleas--they live outside (squirrels carry them all year round) so yes, it's a summer thing. Any vet has flea treatments, they kill fleas in 1-3 days (any flea not on the cats will die when they do go on the cat). Revolution, Frontline and Advantage are the big three flea drops. They all work well. Phone any vet and ask what the cost is--I've gotten quotes from $12 to $24 for the same item. They work 4-6 weeks.

Vacuuming daily helps a lot too, any live flea sucked up in the vacuum dies in the process.
