JOHNSTOWN, Pa. -- Derek Link lives on Ash Street in the Hornerstown section of Johnstown. He's been working for quite some time to get someone to clean up the property across the street.
Neighbors said the property is full of weeds, unkempt grass, rodents and snakes.
Link is worried kids might get hurt around this property, but he's had no help from the city of Johnstown.
WJAC-TV discovered the property belongs to a company called Renewed Hope Enterprises, Inc. of New Jersey. There's no name listed and we could find out who owned that company.
A new bill was just passed through the Senate called the anti-slumlord law. It allows municipalities to take action against owners of buildings, housing or land that is in violation of building or housing codes by placing a lien against the owner's total assets.
The problem WJAC-TV found is that no one can find the company. WJAC-TV tried to get in contact with the Johnstown City Manager about this issue, but she was unavailable.
