Font Size: COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- Anti-tax crusader Douglas Bruce faces another legal challenge after a complaint was filed that he illegally practiced law.
Bruce has until June 15 to respond to a Colorado Supreme Court order demanding he show cause why he should not be kept from practicing law, according to Law Week of Colorado, a publication for lawyers.
Bruce already faces possible jail time over tax evasion charges filed in Denver District Court. The most serious charge carries a fine of $500,000 or up to six years in prison.
Bruce told the Colorado Springs Gazette on Sunday that he has no law office, collected no fee, and never impersonated a lawyer.
The complaint accused Bruce of offering legal support to supporters of a city charter initiative that was never put on the ballot.

Bruce is the worst thing to ever happen to this State. He has single handedly ruined schools, state, county and local governments with his tax bills. Most of our communities were built and paid for by developers who in turn added the costs to the price of your homes. Now this infrastructure is coming to the end of it's life and is in need of repairs and replacement. The funds needed have to come from somewhere and I don't think Mr. Bruce has an answer for where the money is to come from. If you want good roads, water electric, gas and all of the other things that you take for granted evry day then you have to pay for them. Life is not free. Maybe in his mind it is. He is a two faced lying slum lord.

I don't like him. I think he's arrogant, abrasive and generally unpleasant. However, my opinion of his personality doesn't coincide with my opinion of him as an effective voice for the community. I wish his personality better matched some of his ideas because I think more people would understand what he's trying to accomplish. At this point, it looks like a witch hunt. If we can't get him to shut-up, we can always sue/charge him with anything we can find. That's not a very good system. Perhaps the next voice with have better charisma. I'd like to see him win his cases simply for the joy of watching him take on big gov't and defeat them, even though I don't care much for the man.

Nice to know Dougie is still up to his old tricks. In my opinion, and I used to have to speak with him regularly, the man is a pompous, arrogant wienie of a man who is only worried about pinching every penny he has. I believe that He really believes he is above the law. The fact that he thought he could ignore a subpoena a few years back speaks volumes.

Is is just me, or does it really seem like Bruce was passing himself off as an attorney? PS: Hello Diamondback Douglas Bruce!

DONATIONS? The guy has more $ than most of us will ever see. [watch the movie Slum Lord Millionaire] The only Government that he opposes is that which might rock his own boat. It is my educated opinion that he has NEVER 'stepped up' for the Taxpayers, only to achive his own selfish ends. Arrogance unequaled seems to me to be his format and he tries and is often successful at orchestration of creative manipulations that are self-serving but NOT for the good of the local citizens. It seems he's gone a bit too far now!

I do not like Douglas Bruce. I can appreciate and admire some of the things he has done and sponsored. I just think he has gone over the edge with his ego and hubris. He has now become his own worst enemy. That said, the powers that be have also gone over the edge in trying to find errors and omissions that they can pin on him. No one else is being followed around to this extent. If Mr. Bruce would just settle down and quite promoting himself as the savior of all mankind, to heck with the expense involved, then the folks on the other side would get bored and leave him alone. Right now everyone loses and it's hideously expensive for all of us.

We the People CANNOT allow the AUTHORITAH to win these unconscionable actions against Mr. Bruce or we'll ALL LOSE our rights to oppose government. The only reason Mr. Bruce is the subject of these attacks is because of how EFFECTIVE he has been in fighting government largesse and corruption. Please support him with donations to his legal defense. He's stepped out in front FOR WE THE PEOPLE; therefore, WE must cover his back.
