ROXAS CITY, Capiz, June 12 (PIA) – A memorandum of agreement (MOA) on anti-trafficking in persons will be formally signed by the Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 and the Capiz provincial government on June 13 at the Provincial Capitol grounds here.
The early Monday activity will be held after the Capiz Provincial Capitol employees’ flag raising ceremony which will be conducted jointly by the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) and provincial government.
The MOA signing will be led by Capiz Gov. Victor A. Tanco, Sr. and PRO – 6 director C/Supt. Cipriano E. Querol, Jr. to reaffirm their ties in the campaign against trafficking in persons.
The province has already organized a Provincial Inter-Agency Committee Against Trafficking (PIACAT) a couple of years ago which has been conducting advocacy activities and orientation of Republic Act 9208 or the Anti-Human Trafficking Act provincewide.
During the program, the region’s top cop will also award the Medalya ng Kasanayan and Papuri to deserving PNP personnel in the province.
Earlier this year, similar medals from the PNP higher headquarters were also accorded to some PNP members and officers in connection with the peaceful 2010 national and barangay elections and other major accomplishments. (JCM/AAL/PIA 6 Capiz)
